conquering the classics - Lizzy

hi there guys!! it's been a long time since we've posted. lately i've been experiencing some health complications so i've not been able to keep up with the A-Z project, though i've come up with a new goal for myself: read as many classics as i can before the end of the summer. here are the books on my list:

  • the Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald
  • the Catcher in the Rye by JD Salinger
  • Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury
  • 1984 by George Orwell
  • Great Expectations by Charles Dickens
  • Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte
  • Emma by Jane Austen
  • Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte
  • the Beautiful and the Damned by F. Scott Fitzgerald
  • Dracula by Bram Stoker
  • Peter Pan by JM Barrie
  • Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen
  • Mansfield Park by Jane Austen
  • Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson
  • Moby Dick by Herman Melville
  • Persuasion by Jane Austen
  • the Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas
  • the Age of Innocence by Edith Wharton
  • David Copperfield  by Charles Dickens
  • Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy
  • Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass by Lewis Caroll
  • Watership Down by Richard Adams
  • The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne
  • Catch-22 by Joseph Heller
  • Slaughterhouse-Five by Kurt Vonnegut
  • the Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde
  • Lord of the Flies by William Golding
  • One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest by Ken Kesey
  • Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov
  • Vanity Fair by William Thackeray
  • Madame Bovary by Gustave Flaubert
  • Around the World in Eighty Days by Jules Verne
  • The Stranger by Albert Camus
now you may think me suicidal if i want to subject myself to that much summer reading, but hopefully it won't be too painstaking and i'll learn a lot from these wonderful classics. wish me luck!

also, i started a new personal blog, called the Flight of the Flamingo. visit! subscribe! it shall (hopefully) be an interesting page!

much love,
Lizzy
